Thomas Houts Creighton, Jr. (6-7-3-2), born March 2, 1897, married Mary O. Yeager, daughter of Harry Yeager, October 28, 1924, lives at Chevy Chase, Maryland. and has one child, Thomas Houts III.

Esther Creighton (6-7-3-3), born December 30, 1898, married William S. Wilson, son of Robert M. Wilson, June 13, 1926, and lives at Phoenix, Arizona.

Mildred Creighton (6-7-3-4), born November 20, 1900, married Clarence L. Coates, son of Benjamin F. Coates, in January, 1923, and lives at Hastings, Nebraska. She has one child, Clarence Leroy, Jr.

Helen Creighton (6-7-3-5), born October 25, 1902, married Leslie D. Beck, son of William A. Beck, April 5, 1930, and lives at Fairfield.

Alice Creighton (6-7-3-6), born August 19, 1905, married Albert Willis, son of Harrison Willis, September 2, 1923, and lives at Fairfield.

Louisa Eakin Patterson (6-7-4), born September 8, 1876, died single at Fairfield on the 28th of July, 1926.

Jessie Arch Patterson (6-7-5), born May 30, 1881, married Samuel J. Barth, son of Louis D. Barth, lives at Fairfield, and has no children.

Mary Patterson (6-8), born March 11, 1840, married Franklin Thomas, November 23, 1859, and lived at Fairmont. She died on the 4th of October, 1890; her husband, on the 21st of March, 1873. Children: (1) Charles; (2) Benjamin Franklin; (3) Clarence McFee; (4) Willie, died in childhood: (5) Lucy Anna; (6) David Patterson; (7) Elizabeth; <8> Frank, died young; and (9) Julia Rachel.

Charles Thomas (6-8-1), born May 20, 1861, is single and lives near Salt Lake City, Utah.

Benjamin Franklin Thomas (6-8-2), born April 29, 1862, married Minnie Depuis, daughter of Noah Depuis, February 18, 1890, and lived at Success, Arkansas, till his death a few years ago. His wife died in February, 1936. Children: (1) Frank: (2) Lillie; (3) John, died in childhood: (4) Charles; (5) Rosa; (6) Clarence; and (7) Jessie.

Fred Thomas (6-8-3-1), born April 19, 1893, married Hazel Fesler, May 25, 1913, and lives on Watson R. F. D. No. 7. Children: (1) Glenn Russell; (2) Bertha Opal; (3) Marybelle; (4) Martha Lee; (5) Mabel Marie; and (6) Frederick Carl.

Glenn Russell Thomas (6-8-3-1-1), born January 25, 1916, married Wilma Zirkle, daughter of Ray O. Zirkle, March 27, 1937, and lives in Fairmont. Children: (1) Barbara Ellen; and (2) Lunda Lou.

Bertha Opal Thomas (6-8-3-1-2), born April 15, 1918, married Claude Vincent, October 11, 1937.

Lucy Anna Thomas (6-8-5), born April 20, 1866, married John F. Smith, son of James Smith, March 28, 1888, and lives at Coyle, Oklahoma. (See 3-2-4 in Chapter III.)

Elizabeth Thomas (6-8-7), born February 26, 1869, married James L. Hayhurst, son of Orlando Hayhurst and Dorcas J. Constable, November 2, 1887, and lived near Fairmont. She died on the 4th of March, 1929. Children: (1) Paul Longenus, died in childhood; (2) Jesse Duward, died in childhood; (3) Donley James; (4) Julia Ellen; (5) George Herschel; (6) Robert Herbert; (7) Mary Dorcas; <8> Olga Jeannette; (9) Norman Harold; (10) Anna Blanche; (11) Clara Elizabeth; and (12) Theodore Carl.

Donley James Hayhurst (6-8-7-3), born September 21, 1892, married Jessie Virginia Harris, March 20, 1917, and lives near Fairmont in R. F. D. No. 3.

Julia Ellen Hayhurst (6-8-7-4), born September 30, 1893, married Paul H. Watkins, son of John R. Watkins, December 11, 1914, and lives at 1201 Justin Ave., Glendale, California. Children: (1) Edith Maxine, died at 10; (2) Paul Hayhurst; and (3) Martha Frances.

George Herschel Hayhurst (6-8-7-5), born October 12, 1895, is mar­ried and lives at Watson.

Robert Herbert Hayhurst (6-8-7-6), born November 6, 1897, married Frances Weaver, daughter of Franklin H. Weaver, May 18, 1929, and lives at Watson. Children: (1) Helen Louise; (2) Arah Elizabeth; (3) Barbara Jane; and (4) Donley Paul, died at birth.

Mary Dorcas Hayhurst (6-8-7-7), born August 18, 1899, married Forney D. Donaldson, son of George C. Donaldson, September 4, 1920, and lives at Watson. Her husband served in the World War. Children: (1) Ruth Eleanor; (2) Richard Forney; (3) William Earl; (4) Thomas Edwin; and (5) Philip Allen.

Olga Jeannette Hayhurst (6-8-7-8), born April 7, 1902, married Cyrus F. Shriver, son of Lindsay L. Shriver, May 18, 1923, and lives near Watson. He served in the World War. Children: (1) Janice Ellen;

Norman Harold Hayhurst (6-8-7-9), born December 20, 1904, married Sara Bernice Martin, daughter of George M. Martin, October 6, 1925, and lives at Watson. Children: (1) James Thomas; and (2) Patricia Ann.

Anna Blanche Hayhurst (6-8-7-10), born November 30, 1906, married a Johnson.

Clara Elizabeth Hayhurst (6-8-7-11), born February 19, 1909, is a nurse.

Theodore Karl Hayhurst (6-8-7-12), born July 10, 1911, married Helen Margaret Weaver, daughter of Frank Weaver, July 16, 1932, and lives at Watson. Children: (1) Janet Marie; (2) Edith Frances; (3) Elizabeth Ann; (4) James Franklin; and (5) Donley George.

Julia Rachel Thomas (6-8-9), born January 12, 1873, married Robert McIntire. For her second husband she married William E. Mahaffey, son of James Mahaffey, November 28, 1900, and lived at Strange Creek, West Virginia. She died on the 27th of December, 1934. Her husband now lives (1941) at Strange Creek. Children: (1) infant Mclntire, died in infancy; (2) Bessie Mary Mahaffey; (3) Gussie Jane Mahaffey; (4) Thelma Rose Mahaffey; and (5) Franklin William Mahaffey, died in infancy.

Bessie Mary Mahaffey (6-8-9-2), born December 31, 1901, married Letcher C. Harris, son of Andrew N. Harris, October 13, 1920. For her second husband she married Fred C. Brown, son of James M. Brown, September 25. 1940, and lives at Strange Creek. Children: (1) Arnold Harold Harris: (2) Harley Edward Harris; (3) Lona Bernell Harris; (4) Bernard William Harris; and (5) Delmar Bobbie Brown.

Gussie Jane Mahaffey (6-8-9-3), born January 3, 1903, married Fletcher G. Harris, son of Andrew Harris, October 13, 1920, and lived at Herold, West Virginia. She died on the 8th of December, 1925. Children: (1) Alvin Glenn: and (2) Alma.

Thelma Rose Mahaffey (6-8-9-4), born April 20, 1906. married Louie C. Brady, son of Daniel Brady, October 14, 1926, and lives at Gassaway, West Virginia. Children: (1) Lester: (2) Mary Lou: (3) Chester Calvin; (4) Lola May; and (5) Betty Jane.

Lucy Ann Patterson (6-9) born February 1. 1842. married John B. Conklin and lived at St. Joseph. Missouri, till her death on the 21st of January, 1919. Children: (1) Emma Blanche; and (2) Gertrude.

Emma Blanche Conklin (6-9-1) married Edward Gibson and lives in St. Joseph. No children.

Gertrude Conklin (6-9-2) married F. J. Elliott and lives at Springer, Oklahoma. No children.

8 ANDREW B. FLEMING was born on the 8th of January, 1803. He married Mary Fleming, daughter of Andrew Fleming, September 18, 1828. (See record of the Andrew Fleming family.)

9 JOAB FLEMING was born on the 28th of September, 1804. He married Mary Conaway, daughter of John Conaway, November 1, 1827. She was born on the 17th of November, 1803. They lived at Monongah. He died on the 20th of September, 1893; his wife, on the 5th of September, 1893. Children: (1) Byram C., died at 7; (2) Thornton T., died at 4; (3) Solomon M., died at 2; (4) William Henry; (5) Clarinda Ann; and (6) Christina Jane.

William Henry Fleming (8-4), born October 22, 1836, married Re­becca Lowrie, daughter of John Lowrie, January 16, 1868, and lived at Monongah. He died on the 8th of July, 1898; his wife, on the 18th of October, 1878. His only child was Mary Ann.

Mary Ann Fleming (8-4-1), born April 15, 1870, married William E. Lewis, son of Jacob Lewis, May 9, 1894, and lives on Grafton Road near Fairmont. Children: (1) infant son, died in infancy; (2) Charles; (3) Glenn; (4) Wayman; (5) Claude; (6) Irene; and (7) Blanche.

Charles Lewis (8-4-1-2), born July 29, 1897, married Nellie Glover, daughter of Edward Glover, lives near Fairmont, and has one child, Donald Charles.

Glenn Lewis (8-4-1-3), born June 18, 1900, married Hazel Hibbs, daughter of Leroy Hibbs, and lives near Fairmont. Children: (1) Wil­liam Glenn; and (2) Robert Dale.

Wayman Lewis (8-4-1-4), born April 25, 1902, married Elsie Merrill, daughter of George Merrill, December 9, 1922, and lives near Fairmont. Children: (1) Dorsey; (2) Lorene; (3) Wayman; and (4) Raymond.

Claude Lewis (8-4-1-5), born March 15, 1905, married Dessie Merrill, and lives in Fairmont.

Clarinda Ann Fleming (8-5), born March 5, 1839, married John I. McDonald, son of John McDonald, September 8, 1860, and lived at Monongah. She died on the 31st of March, 1921; her husband, on the 15th of December, 1897. Children: (1) William Henry; (2) Elias Owens; (3) Mary Virginia; (4) Charles Fleming; (5) Festus Creed; (6) Lola; (7) Nellie; <8> Sarah Elizabeth, died in childhood; and (9) Artie.

William Henry McDonald (8-5-1), born May 12, 1862, married Sarah A. Rowand, daughter of Frank Rowand, October 29, 1891, lives at Monongah, and has no children.

Elias Owens McDonald (8-5-2), born May 18, 1864, married Nellie Fluharty, daughter of Jefferson Fluharty, July 4, 1914, and lived at Monongah. He died on the 24th of December, 1927. Children: (1) Helen Howell; (2) Veronica Ann; (3) Laura Lee; and (4) Robert Owens, died
in childhood.

Herschel Smith (8-5-3-3), born September 2, 1902, married Pearl Holland, daughter of Sanford Holland, February 9, 1919, and lives in Fairmont. Children: (1) Jack Pershing; and (2) Betty Jo.

Clarinda McDonald (8-5-4-1), born May 7, 1910, married Houston Tomlinson, son of Herbert Tomlinson, September 1, 1929, and lives at Monongah.

Festus Creed McDonald (8-5-5), born September 28, 1869, married Bird Cornell, daughter of Hezekiah Cornell, December 24, 1903, and lives at Monongah. Children: (1) Arnold Sumner; (2) Samuel Owens; (3) Harry Offa; (4) John Lester; and (5) Eugene Bradford.

Arnold Sumner McDonald (8-5-5-1), born January 2, 1905, married Mary Clark, daughter of Frank Clark, June 8, 1929, and lives at Monongah.

Samuel Owens McDonald (8-5-5-2), born July 21, 1906, married Alene Jones, daughter of Earl Jones, February 11, 1929, lives at Monongah, and has one child, Ronald.

Harry Offa McDonald (8-5-5-3), born August 29, 1908, was single and was living at Monongah in 1931.

John Lester McDonald (8-5-5-4), born September 21, 1910, married Agnes Ambrose, daughter of Michael Ambrose, October 13, 1930, and lives at Monongah.

Lola McDonald (8-5-6), born June 13, 1872, is single and lives at Monongah.

Nellie McDonald (8-5-7), born November 25, 1874, married William Stealey, July 7, 1900. He was killed in the big mine explosion at Monongah about 1907. For her second husband she married Luther Arnett and lives at Mannington. No children.

Artie McDonald (8-5-9), born July 10, 1879, married George Thompson, son of Samuel Thompson, August 24, 1901, and lives in Monongah. Children: (1) James Peter; and (2) Barbara Ellen.

James Peter Thompson (8-5-9-1), born December 9, 1902, married Winnie Davis, daughter of Claude Davis, June 15, 1921, and lives at

Monongah. Children: (1) Elizabeth; and (2) Martha Virginia.

Christina Jane Fleming (8-6), born October 26, 1841, died single on the 15th of July, 1929.

9 ZADOCK FLEMING was born on the 28th of August, 1806. He married Emma A. Rowell in Muskingum County, Ohio, March 11, 1830. She died on the 18th of August, 1854; and he afterwards, May 2, 1856, married Sarah A. Stadden. He died at Fairfield, Illinois, September 21, 1874; his last wife, on the 5th of March, 1898. Children: (1) Mary, died in childhood; (2) Joseph Trimble; (3) Charles, died in childhood; (4) Melissa; (5) Hannah, died at 6; (6) William Sanford, died in child­hood; <7 and 8> Oscar and Augusta, both died in childhood; (9) Lucinda; (10) Mary Emma; and (11) William.

Joseph Trimble Fleming (9-2), born May 13, 1833, married Cordelia Dudley, daughter of Elias Dudley, May 29, 1854, and lived at Fairfield. He died on the 28th of May, 1910; his wife, on the 9th of December, 1908. Children: (1) infant daughter, died in infancy; (2) infant son, died in infancy; (3) Frederick, died at 17; (4) Lew Lander; (5) Harry Leon, died in infancy; (6) Frank Dudley; (7) Joseph Trimble, Jr.; <8> Mary Emma, died in infancy; and (9) Eldon Pitcher.

Lew Lander Fleming (9-2-4), born March 13, 1862, died single on the 26th of June, 1901.

Frank Dudley Fleming (9-2-6), born January 5, 1868, died single on the 7th of September, 1893.

Joseph Trimble Fleming, Jr., (9-2-7), born August 5, 1871, died single on the 23rd of September, 1925.

Eldon Pitcher Fleming (9-2-9), born August 3. 1873, married Martha Camp, daughter of William Camp, August 3, 1913, and lives at Fairfield, where he has a furniture store. Children: (1) Mary Eldon; and (2) Joseph Edgar.

Melissa Fleming (9-4), born August 1, 1839, married Claiborn Adams, September 6. 1857. and lived at St. Louis. She died on the 11th of

November, 1913. Children: (1) Grace Lillian; (2) Blanche; (3) Clementine; (4) John; (5) Clois; (6) Lizzie; and (7) Nettie.

Grace Lillian Adams (9-4-1), born August 12, 1858, married John Anderson and lived at McLeansboro, Illinois. She died on the 7th of June, 1922. Children: (1) Laura; (2) William; (3) Clara; (4) Lex; and (5) Madeline. Several of these children were living at McLeansboro, Illinois, in 1931, but their records could not be obtained.

Blanche Adams (9-4-2), born November 24, 1860, married William W. Reeve, son of William Reeve, December 5, 1886, and was living in 1931 at 503 Roosevelt Ave., Redwood City, California. Her only child was Alma, born July 4, 1889.

Clementine Adams (9-4-3), born February 20, 1863, married Benjamin Dixon, son of William Dixon, May 6, 1883, and was living at Fairfield in 1931. Her husband died on the 31st of August, 1930. Children: (1) Effie Annette, died in childhood; (2) Carrie Myrtle, died in childhood; (3) Mary Glenn; and (4) Grace Lillian.

Mary Glenn Dixon (9-4-3-3), born July 7, 1894, married Roy Powell, son of Jackson Powell, October 20, 1928, and was living at 1507 6th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa, in 1931. Her husband was in the World War.

Grace Lillian Dixon (9-4-3-4), born October 17, 1900, married Wilton Rebertus, son of Harman Rebertus, September 22, 1919, and was living in 1931 at 2325 Jefferson St., Des Moines. Children: (1) Wayne Douglass; and (2) Beverly Ruth.

John Adams (9-4-4), born November 10, 1865, died single on the 2nd of June, 1894.

Clois Adams (9-4-5), born November 29, 1871, died single on the 21st of March, 1923.

Lizzie Adams (9-4-6), born March 27, 1874, married Harry Knorr and was living in 1931 at 4052 McDonald St., St. Louis. Her only child is Ruth.

Nettie Adams (9-4-7), born May 16, 1877, married Frank F. Heiman, son of Conrad Heiman, April 26, 1902, and was living in 1931 at 1207 W. Vernon St., Los Angeles. Her only child is Blanche Melissa.

Lucinda Fleming* (9-9), born June 9, 1850, married Alexis B. Rider, son of Sylvester Rider, May 29, 1871, and lived at Fairfleld. She died on the 11th of May, 1928; her husband, on the 15th of September, 1897. Children: (1) Edward Fleming; (2) Clara Mabel; and (3) Mary Louise, died at 16.

Mary Emma Fleming (9-10), born March 8, 1853, married Homer C. Handley, son of Henry Handley, February 13, 1876, and lived near Newark, Ohio, till her death on the 14th of February, 1897. Her husband died at Jacksontown, Ohio, a few years later. Children: (1) Joseph Fleming; (2) Minnie; and (3) Frank.

This family became scattered when the mother died. Minnie went to live with her aunt in Denver. Joseph was taken to the farm of an uncle in South Dakota. Frank was adopted by a minister by the name of Suit in Iowa and died in France. Minnie married an O’Connor and was living in Chicago at 3547 Madison St., in 1931.

Joseph Fleming Handley (9-10-1), born May 20, 1886, married De­lia A. Kelly, daughter of Martin Kelly, August 19, 1925, and lived in 1931 at 2293 Geary St., San Francisco. He was in the World War. No children.

William Fleming (9-11), the only child of the second marriage of Zadock Fleming, was born on the 22nd of February, 1857, and died single on the 14th of September, 1877.

10 JOSHUA FLEMING was born on the 8th day of February, 1808,
and died single on the 8th day of September, 1832.

* There are four ninth children of the ninth child in this record. The others are: Zachariah Kidwell Parrish, in the Hamilton family; Martha Alice Fadely, in the Thomas Fleming family; and Archibald Fleming, in the Matthew Fleming family.
